When it comes to Valentine’s Day, every girl wants the pink and the glitz. By putting together my very own Valentine’s Day Wedding shower with the theme of Candy Land, I came up with a few helpful tips to make yours perfect in every aspect.
Day Wedding Shower
I began with choosing my linens. I went into it thinking I wanted crazy glitzy linens and pink everywhere. Little did I know my idea would soon change. Actually seeing the linens, I started to realize I wanted to play up the pink and red by using simple linens for my major tables. I ended up picking simple white striped linen to play up with texture, and glitzy gold sequin linen for the candy table. There were a few bar highs in which I picked a white frilly linen with a pink sash.
I wanted to be sure my centerpiece had all the aspects of my theme, so candy and gold were a must! Since the linen was white and it was on Valentine’s Day, I decided to get a tall vase and
fill it with red, white, and pink candy, alternating the colors. I then got branches with little pink flowers on them and tall, plain branches and spray-painted them gold to add that glitzy pop, and put them all into the vase. It was so simple, easy, and fit the theme so wonderfully.
The part that caught everyone’s eyes was the candy table. With the gold sequin linen, it added an awesome sparkle to the candy, and an awesome texture contrast with the white striped linens. Candy tables should always have some sort of edible centerpiece that stands out, so I chose a macaroon tower that was filled with white, pink, and red macaroons. It was beautiful and delicious! When it comes to jars for the candy, try to go with open jars and different sizes (Tall, short, big, small). Use wine glasses and martini glasses, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box.
For any occasion, be sure you are planning a party to represent your style and personality. Don’t be afraid of
texture and color, and don’t forget to make it fun!
