Two Tickets to Paradise
Torrie and Tristan locked eyes at a party one night and, once they met, they never stopped talking. That night, Tristan walked Torrie to her car and asked for her number. The next day, Torrie woke up to an unexpected call from Tristan. He asked her to dinner that night and they have been together ever since.
The couple took a quick weekend trip to the exotic Mayan Riviera-a perfect trip to paradise for these two lovebirds to unwind and soak up some sun. On the second day of their stay at the fabulous Fairmont Mayakoba Resort, they had amazing plans to go snorkeling and bike riding, and to lounge on the beach but as luck would have it, it rained all day. Torrie and Tristan decided to make the best of it and grab a bite on the property while they figured out their next move. It was pouring as they make their way past the swelling rivers and creeks toward the restaurant, huddled under a golf umbrella.
When they stopped on a bridge to check out the rising water, Tristan told Torrie he saw a baby alligator. Torrie was so determined to see the baby gators, she leaned over the bridge and looked everywhere to find it. When she finally gave up her search, she turned around and found Tristan on one knee holding a beautiful ring and asking for her hand in marriage! The couple tied the knot at the rustic Las Velas event venue in Houston. When Torrie and Tristan first toured the property they knew it was an ideal location to accomodate the beautiful ceremony and exciting reception they had planned. The old world feel of Las Velas created an atmosphere that transported their guests to another country. Shena Cherian at Design Wedding Consultants helped Torrie and Tristan plan a flawless celebration that went off without a hitch. It was truly a day that forged a lifetime of blissful memories full of friends, family, and love!
Torrie walked down the aisle in an exquisite gown by Allure Bridal with make-up by Ronnee Legington and hair by Karla Culton. She accessorized with applique around her waist for an extra touch of bling that looked like it was part of the original dress! The three-tiered cake designed by Sugar Rush Cake Gallery was as beautiful as it was delicious. They also served 200 mini cupcakes for all those with a sweet tooth. The guests loved these bite sized treats in flavors like Peach Cobbler, Red Velvet and Banana Pudding. Many of the male guests were cigar smokers, so the courtyard was host to a Cigar and Cocktail hour complete with a stash of full-bodied stogies. At the end of this glorious night, Torrie and Tristan were whisked away for a culturally historic and glamorous getaway to Barcelona Spain!
