I Scream for Ice Cream!
May 29th, 2015
In March of 2014, Jerry was leaving town on a business trip. Shauna and Jerry decided to take one of their classic cars out for an ice cream date before he left. Jerry had an even sweeter plan.
After a couple dips of rocky road, they return to the car, but it won’t start. Jerry begins tinkering, trying to get the car running. He asked Shauna for some tools in the trunk; she was shocked to see a beautiful diamond ring boldly displayed in an elaborate setup. As she stood in disbelief, Shauna found Jerry on one knee asking the words we all would hope to hear someday, “will you marry me?”
Jerry’s friend Clint, who helped set up the “kill switch” for the car, was also in the distance taking pictures of the entire proposal. “It was a terrific surprise and I loved the effort Jerry put into this one of a kind proposal,” Shauna says. The wedding was a long time coming; Jerry and Shauna had been dating over 10 years. They tied the knot at Pecan Springs in Brookshire, Texas. Guests walked down “Our Memory Lane,” a ten-year collection of handwritten letters, birthday cards, love notes and other cherished keepsakes.
First tip is to just breathe! Know what you want and do not shy away from making your wedding the way you want it. The guests are usually very eager to see the beautiful union, the unique details and the personal touches that help depict who the bride and groom are as a couple. Also, my day of Coordinator was a saving grace! She was able to assist me with certain items I did not even think about; a true asset to my wedding. Consider a coordinator if you can! Lastly, do not forget to stop to take it all in because it goes by so fast.
