Sandy Wahowski served as a World Geography teacher for Cy-Fair ISD when she met Tim Szafran, a local swimming and water polo coach. After a few flirtatious run-ins and several laughs with one another, Tim finally gathered the nerve to ask her to join him on an invigorating five-mile run. Each and every time they saw each other, sparks flew, and as the conversations deepened, the two reached new levels of love . Needless to say, once Sandy and Tim started running through life together, they never stopped.
When the time came for Tim to ask for Sandy’s hand in marriage, he stayed true to their traditional, Texas Aggie roots with a romantic proposal under the school’s infamous Century tree.
After a whirlwind, ten-month long engagement, the two held an unforgettable ceremony and reception at Tuscany Villa in Katy, TX on July 30, 2010. The bride wore a Mori Lee gown with an intricately beaded, sweetheart neckline, ruching around the hips and an elegant lace-up back. To complement her stunning dress, Sandy dressed herself in a shoulder-length veil and waltzed down the aisle holding a bouquet composed of Roses and Star Gazers.
Boasting hues of bright blue, bridesmaids and groomsmen surrounded the couple as they exchanged their promise of love to one another. Shortly after, it was time to celebrate the newlyweds! More Than Cakes designed a four-tier confectionary delight, and the cake topper surely had the crowd talking – the bride was pinching the groom’s rear!
To celebrate the beginning of their new life together, Sandy and Tim spent seven days in Mexico’s Riviera Maya where they swam with dolphins, snorkeled and toured ancient Mayan sites.
