Shireen, a vice president of investments at UBS, and Brad, a vice president of Business Development at National Oilwell Varco met at a friend’s party. Shireen was party hopping and just arrived from an ugly sweater holiday party. When Brad saw her from across the room, he thought she was beautiful, but had strange fashion sense. Two years later, Brad took proposing to new heights. He asked for Shireen’s hand 500 ft above ground as they floated in a hot air balloon along the mountains of Tucson, AZ.
Soaring Gothic arches and beautiful stained glass windows attract brides and grooms to St. Paul’s
Methodist Church in Houston’s Museum District. The reception followed at the Junior League. “It was like having our own private mansion for the evening,” says Shireen.
The bride was stunning in a Angelina Faccenda by Mori Lee gown in ivory shantung silk she discovered at Ventura’s Bridal. Shireen added a bit of glamour and sparkle with her own custom belt and a fun feather hairpiece from Houston Bridal Gallery. The look was completed with a cathedral length veil. “I loved my veil, and it really made me feel like a bride,” she says.
The cake was a simple and elegant tiered wedding cake, enhanced with a trim of pearl drops. Moist and delicious, it was a combination of Orange Almond and Amaretto flavors; the groom’s cake was decorated for their Alma Mater: Texas A&M University. The couple honeymooned in the British Virgin Islands and St. John.
