Maricela Hernandez & Brooks Bassler

Maricela and Brooks spent a lot of time exploring Cajun food in New Orleans as they researched the menu for their restaurant, BB’s Café, where they serve Tex-Orleans cuisine. Galveston, a Texas city with a New Orleans flair, was the
ideal location for their wedding.
After a surprise engagement in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, a surprise to every one but Brooks and Maricela’s father, they enjoyed a Cuban themed rehearsal dinner
at the San Luis Resort. The event was held around the pool where guests could enjoy the cigar roller’s products.
Set to a pallet of black and emerald green, the ceremony took place at the oldest home on the island. The Menard Home is a big, beautiful plantation home that has been restored and is now a museum. The house sits amid stately old trees that cover a dirt path leading to the gazebo where Maricela and Brooks tied the knot. They rode in a vintage horse carriage to the reception
