Maggie Mahoney and Eric Olson
March 5, 2011
Maggie and Eric met while volunteering with the Life Teen program at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Sparks flew and similarities abounded; the two fell madly in love. Both are recent graduates, Maggie – Loyola, Eric – Texas State University.
Maggie received a big surprise as Eric took her to see Alan Jackson perform at the rodeo. Eric made an unexpected stop at the Williams Tower Water Wall, where he proposed. The groom-to-be selected a vintage platinum and diamond sparkler from the 1920’s he purchased at Past Era Antique Jewelry, and Maggie said, “YES!”
St. Cecilia Catholic Church was packed to the brim with more than 300 in attendance for the wedding and reception. The bride wore a Maggie Sottero lace-overlay gown with a sweetheart neckline and lace up back. Her seven bridesmaids wore chiffon jade full-length dresses and carried daisies wrapped in silk. The couple honeymooned in Paris, France; they reside in Houston.
And, for those who might wonder, the couple’s first date was at Vintropolis Wine Bar in Houston, followed by a late night dinner at a Whataburger. The bride states, “I might be biased, but I think everyone’s first date should be at a wine bar followed by a big bacon cheese burger and milkshake from Whataburger!” – LMV
