Live Strong in Love.
December 16, 2011
This magical celebration of love was filled with personal touches and memorable moments. From the tears in Daddy’s eyes as he glimpsed Katie in her wedding dress to the Bride’s gift of monogrammed handkerchiefs for her parents, every detail was perfect.
The father and daughter danced to a song recorded by the Katie’s grandfather who died from cancer 20 years ago. In his honor, guests received pink ribbons and Livestrong bracelets to represent a donation to cancer research. They made their getaway in a Vintage Rolls Royce and honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas. Currently, the bride is a Registered Nurse in the Transplant Unit at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital. The groom teaches Physics and coaches track at Atascocita High School.
Katie’s planning tip:
Include your family and wedding party in as much of the planning as possible. When I chose my dress, it was an event! We brought champagne, laughed, cried, and made some great memories. They all gave me great ideas and the bonding along the way made the actual wedding day more intimate because we all had a hand in planning.
