West Coast Wonderland
October 8th, 2011
As the director of a buzzing Houston public relations firm, Katherine’s professional and personal life involves meeting new people every day. When she met Kyle, though, she knew she had just met some- one who would change her life.
It was a chance meeting. At the end of a long day and heading home, Katherine agreed on a whim to swing by for a glass of wine with a girlfriend. Unbeknownst to her, Kyle had swung by as well—their chemistry was immediate. “I met Kyle and knew instantly that following my impulse was the right decision,” she says.
Soon, the Ecuadorian beauty and the 6’4 successful energy trader were an item. It wasn’t long before Kyle proposed to Katherine at his alma mater, Ohio State–where his father had proposed to his mother over forty years earlier.
During a road trip from Newport Beach to San Francisco, the beauty of the West Coast convinced them that it was there that they should exchange their vows. And so, on a beautiful, breezy hilltop as the sun set at the Carmel Valley Ranch, surrounded by family and friends, the couple did just that.
Katherine stunned in Monique Lhuillier Couture on Kyle’s arm. Katherine and Kyle’s fathers, Dr. Hugo Orellana and Dr. Charles Ross, were at their sides, with the memories of their late mothers in their hearts, as well as family and friends from Houston, California and as far away as Ecuador. Houstonians in attendance: Gordon Bethune and Jessica Rossman, Brittany Zucker, Stuart Rosenberg, Sanford Steinberg, Carla and Alex Martinez, Nick Espinosa,Tina and Sam Governale.
