Milk and Cookies, and Love
On December 31, 2011, Robbie whisked Hannah away to a day at the park. Little did she know this was no ordinary day, Robbie would ask her to be Mrs. Park. He blind- folded Hannah and directed her to the very picnic table where they had one of their first dates. Hannah took off her blindfold and Robbie, on one knee, asked her to be his wife. Hannah said yes, of course, and this was “the best day of 2011 by far!” Hannah, a nursing student at University of Texas at Arlington, and Robbie, a Retirement Relation- ship Manager for Fidelity, were excited and ready to begin their lives together.
Wedding planning went into full swing as the couple planned summer nuptials. Hannah, with her new found love of social networking site Pinterest, had a vision for her wedding, and was determined to make it happen. With her immaculate attention to detail, Hannah created her wedding, piece by piece. This included making vintage centerpieces out of lace and burlap and finding and using apothecary bottles as flower holders.
They decided to wed in the church where it all began, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dallas, Texas. In Mormon tradition, couples are officially married in Temple. Close family and friends gathered outside the Temple to congratulate the newlyweds.
Guests headed to Sky Creek Ranch for the Ring Ceremony and Reception. Mid-afternoon, guests gathered outside on the terrace overlooking the golf course to join Hannah and Robbie in celebrating their marriage. Beginning with her father walking her down the aisle, this unique outdoor wedding included a reading from a family friend of Hannah, Leslie Nollsch, a song by bridesmaid, Caleigh Wilson, and a surprise wedding band given to Hannah from Robbie during the exchange of rings.
After all the excitement and happy tears, guests moved back into the building to visit and mingle with friends and family. The reception had its own surprises. From the cookies and milk bar, Hannah’s favorite sweet, to a table dedicated to parents and grandparents pictures. Every guest was able to bask in the essence of this newlywed couple through the details of their wedding.
Pictures were taken, new friends were made, and the happy couple was now Mr. and Mrs. Park. Hannah and Robbie started their new lives by honeymooning for a week in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where they stayed at The Ritz-Carlton.
