Rachel and Phillip met while attending Sabine High School and immediately knew they had something special. After dating for some time, in January of 2013, Phillip told Rachel that he truly could not wait another second to marry her, then popped the big question. The couple knew from the very beginning that they wanted to be married in their hometown, where the story began. They selected Lake Cherokee for their outdoor ceremony and indoor reception, which provided the “real East Texas feel” that they were looking for.
The ceremony was designed and set up by the mother of the bride. She even included vintage china on the wedding party table! Jo’s Custom Confections created the cake, and her gown was Allure One of a Kind. The ceremony was made complete with a speech by the bride’s uncle and “Jones” Sodas. After their big day, the couple enjoyed a luxury honeymoon in Cancun.
It’s very easy to get caught up in following the “schedule” of the wedding day. Make sure you take the time to hug each of your loved ones, have a few moments alone with your husband, and just say thank you. Soak in each and every moment!
