Rachel, an attorney, and Joshua, an engineer, briefly met in their undergraduate years at The University of Texas in Austin. Fate would bring them back together several years later while Joshua was in Houston for an internship and the rest was history!
It was the day before Rachel and Joshua’s birthday (they share the same birthday) and Josh wanted to take Rachel somewhere as an early birthday gift. He drove her to Buffalo Bayou Park and handed her a gift bag on the bridge. She opened the bag to find a ring inside! Josh got down on one knee and asked her to spend her life with him. She, of course, said “yes!” Josh took her to meet her family for dinner at América’s, where she was surprised by her brother, who had flown in all the way from Utah to surprise her.
The couple tied the knot at the Bell Tower on 34th in Houston, Texas. Rachel wore a fabulous gown from Alysse’s Bridal that is based in Provo, Utah. Their wedding was a beautiful blend of their respective traditions— Rachel’s Indian and Western upbringing with Josh’s Trinidadian.
Rachel and Josh honeymooned in multiple locations including: Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Santorini, Athens, and Frankfurt. All making for an incredible adventure as newlyweds!

“Don’t tell us ‘don’t sweat the small stuff ’ (the brides know this). No matter what, get a good photographer. The pictures are what [will] last longer than the actual day and are a great way to reminisce. So splurge there.”
