Jodi and Blake met when Jodi was 16. Their parents bowled together. A chance meeting more than 20 years later at a Subway sandwich shop and a post on Facebook eventually brought them together. They are the most adorable and perfect couple; their love exudes to everyone around them.
Their ceremony took place at the River Oaks Garden Club under a beautiful tent lined with crisscrossed hanging lights. The altar, designed by Balushka, was created with white, black, and silver hand crafted flowers. Everyone was seated when Blake, a Houston Fire Department Chief, walked down the aisle to George Strait’s # 1 hit “The Fireman.” This got the crowd roaring and the fun never stopped. Their first walk as man and wife was to Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Sweet Little Thing.”After the ceremony, guests crossed the street to fun-factory Armando’s. From the margaritas to the tasty Mexican fare, the Sunday-funday afternoon crowd was rocking. They rode off into the sunset in a Firetruck after one gown change and one sexy performance by the bride to Beyonce’s “Love on Top.”
Do it your way and wait to spend the money to have the wedding of your dreams. Indulge in flowers that are beautiful, have food and drinks flowing, and make sure you have enough time to plan (at least 14 months). You want everything perfect, not rushed. Take the time to pick the perfect music and make sure everything flows. You want to be in the moment to remember each and every detail. Get a wedding planner. It’s worth it. You cannot be there that day to make sure it goes smooth and perfect. Have the wedding you always wanted, not what everyone else wants you to have.
