Dustin, an engineer, and Jessica, a marketing professional, met at a Young Professionals networking event in Midtown Houston. It was at the end of an amazing European vacation, on a pier at sunset in Barcelona, that Dustin simply said, “I love you very much, and I want you to be my wife.”
“The best thing we did was take time to be alone after the proposal,” says Jessica. “It was a very special time for us. We were the only people in the world who knew. It was fun having our little secret for a while and sharing those moments together. I will never forget that time.”
Exactly four years to the day of their first date and one year since the proposal, Jessica’s childhood pastor performed their wedding ceremony at Renaissance Carambola Beach Resort, St Croix USVI.
They met for a first look on top of a hill at the island’s old sugar mill where they took some great pictures and calmed down before the ceremony. Jessica says, “The emotions you feel on that day are so strong and being able to hug each other and get it all out, helped us enjoy the ceremony even more.”
The bride stunned, wearing a Pronovias gown with a long simple veil and floral headpiece. The three-tier cake had multiple rum-flavored layers created by Starfish Patisserie in St Croix. They honeymooned at the Viceroy on Anguilla.
Put someone else in charge of making decisions on your wedding day. That is what your mom and maid of honor are for. Use them, so you can relax and enjoy the day because it goes by so fast.
