Magen and Brad are a fairytale couple. From their serendipitous first meeting to their enchanting storybook wedding, they are truly what dreams are made of.
Magen Leigh Ellis and Bradley Christopher Cherry met through the Page Parkes Model and Talent Agency. While modeling for Academy Sports and Outdoors, they were cast as a couple on several occasions and were immediately drawn to each other. They began to talk and soon became aware of an unmistakable bond.
The night Brad proposed played out like a scene from an old Hollywood romance. It was Brad’s birthday; he arranged for a driver to take them to dinner. As he opened the door to the limo, Brad dropped to one knee and asked Magen to spend the rest of her life with him. Much to Magen’s surprise, dinner for two quickly turned into a family affair. Brad and Magen walked as a pair into a private room where both of their families were there to greet them. It was truly a magical moment.
On May 14, 2011, the regal Houstonian Hotel and Resort was the perfect backdrop for their wedding and Select Studios was on hand to capture every moment on film. The traditional ceremony was held outside in the Meadow. Over 300 guests were surrounded by lush azaleas and serenaded by a string quartet.
The bride arrived by horse and carriage wearing an Ivory strapless sweetheart mermaid gown with a Swarovski crystal headpiece fit for a princess. Following the ceremony, guests followed a traditional mariachi band to the Grande Ballroom for the reception.
Flowers by Nino set the tone for the reception by creating dazzling centerpieces surrounded by candles for each table. Towering glass vases filled with peonies and roses in shades of light pinks and corals stole the show. Family, friends, and even some uninvited guests dined on exquisite food prepared by the Houstonian staff of chefs.
Susie’s Cakes created a masterpiece. The four-layered almond cake filled dulce de leche was draped with exquisite fondant lace.
The night ended on a high note as the couple departed from the lavish celebration to ten-day honeymoon to the island of St. Lucia. A voyage fit for a king and queen.
