From humble beginnings, he has catapulted his brand and his career into the bridal and party-planning stratosphere. How did he do it? He fulfills the prophecy: “The goal is to make your guests happy they RSVP’s yes.”
According to Tutera, all brides have a story to tell. If your guests are saying “I’m so grateful I RSVP’d yes, you have succeeded,” he says. His tips, – break tradition; make a change every thirty minutes. Items to change include: music, lighting, or drink color. “I’m the master of breaking every rule,” he says.
The star of “My Fair Wedding” on WE TV was recently in Texas. At the Victoria Bridal Show, he pleased the crowd with an hour-long question and answer session. In case you missed it, here’s some of the questions and Tutera’s answers.
The ice was broken with, “How do you add redneck touches to your wedding?” He simply responded, “You need to judge the comfort level to your guests and provide an environment where they can be comfortable.”
How do you find bridesmaid dresses for diverse group? Embrace who is in the party; don’t send them out to find the gown themselves. The bride should select the color. Then, let the girls chose the actual dress. “You want them to smile at your wedding,” he reminded the crowd.
What is a good way to incorporate children in your wedding? Have them function as your witnesses. Or, have your first dance be a family dance.
What do you do when some of the family wants to serve alcohol and some does not? “This is a hard one,” He says. You must make a decision and communicate now. Perhaps you could have just one bar on the side of the room.
How do you handle a father too nervous to walk the bride down the aisle? Seat him up front, or perhaps he can meet the bride in the middle of the aisle.
How do you decide who should be in your wedding? Pick people you want to know ten years from now. It’s not about your past, it’s about your future together.
